Dwayne Wright

Born on June 20, 1982, in Brooklyn, NY, Dwayne “DW” Wright grew up surrounded by music as the youngest of five sons of the late Pastor Rev. Timothy Wright and Co-Pastor Betty Wright. Raised in a family of extraordinary musical talent, DW began playing bass guitar at 14. It wasn’t long before he joined his father on tours across the country, honing his craft and laying the foundation for a remarkable career.

Starting in gospel, DW quickly expanded into diverse genres, earning a reputation as a versatile and sought-after bassist. His résumé boasts an impressive roster of collaborations, including Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Jill Scott, The Roots, Eminem, Mary Mary, Teedra Moses, The Backstreet Boys, Queen Latifah, Floetry, and Lauren Daigle, among others. DW has brought his artistry to performances, tours, and studio sessions with icons across gospel, pop, R&B, hip-hop, and soul.

In addition to his prolific performance career, DW is the founder of The DW Collective, a New York- based group of exceptional musicians providing a wide range of services, including artist development, musical direction, touring bands, house bands, corporate entertainment, and wedding performances. The DW Collective is known for its versatility and professionalism, making it a go-to resource for both emerging and established artists.

Beyond his work as a bassist and bandleader, DW has excelled as a producer and songwriter. He co-wrote and co-produced “Hear This” for Kierra “Kiki” Sheard’s Dove Award-winning album This Is Me. His contributions have earned industry acclaim, cementing his status as a multidimensional talent.

In 2010, DW ventured into solo artistry with the release of his debut album, Unbreakable. The project showcases a rich tapestry of musical collaborations, blending his mastery of instrumentation with contributions from some of the industry's most celebrated artists. The album received rave reviews, further establishing DW as a formidable creative force.
