Maura Streppa
Amy Winehouse meets Dolly Parton.
A blend of Chicago grit and Carolina charm, Maura Streppa writes and sings with a rare kind of honesty: bold, unfiltered, and shaped by the places she has called home, from Illinois to North Carolina to Nashville, Tennessee. Her music carries the emotional weight of a storyteller with something to say and the electric edge of an artist unafraid to take up space.
With vocals that cut through like smoke and light, Maura brings a soulful, textured delivery to modern country and roots-leaning melodies. Her songwriting spans the full emotional spectrum, from high-energy barroom anthems to bruised-but-hopeful confessionals to intimate snapshots pulled straight from her own life. Each song reminds listeners that joy and heartbreak often sit side by side, and that truth, even when messy, is always worth telling.
With 21 songs released across streaming platforms, Maura has caught the attention of major industry tastemakers including Billboard, American Songwriter, SiriusXM’s The Highway, and iHeartRadio’s Women of Country. Her song “Singer and the Song” earned the 2022 Tennessee Songwriters Week title, cementing her reputation as a rising voice whose pen and presence leave a lasting mark. Most recently, she won the American Songwriter Wide Open Country Song Contest with her song “Bloodstream.”
Off the record, Maura is a builder. She is the Founder and Co-CEO of Round on the Road, a touring songwriter round with an all-female roster that brings Nashville’s writers’ round tradition to stages beyond Music City. She also created Maurtini Hour, a monthly live music residency at The 1865 Club. It’s a martini-soaked night of 1950s glamour featuring a full band, special guests, and a signature dirty martini program. Both grew from the same belief that runs through her songs: music hits hardest when people feel like they’re in the room together. Raw, real, and unmistakably her own, Maura Streppa is building more than a catalog of songs. She is creating a space where listeners feel seen, understood, and empowered to stand a little taller.
“I’m hoping for guidance on strengthening my presence as an artist, deepening my connection with my audience, and finding new listeners as I continue to grow. I plan to be a sponge throughout the process, soaking up every bit of wisdom and experience these mentors are willing to share!”
