Rachel Whitney has dedicated her career to the intersection of music and technology. Most recently, as Head of Editorial for Nashville at Spotify, she built and led the team covering rock, alternative, country, and Christian and gospel music programming, focused on collaborative, high-quality listener experiences and integrating music curation across marketing, sales, and product development.
Previously, she worked at both YouTube and Pandora as the Head of Country Music Programming and developed playlist ecosystems that supported the breadth and depth of country music. Prior to her roles in music programming, she was Director of Digital Marketing at Borman Entertainment where she supported a roster of artists including Keith Urban, Michael Franti, Mickey Guyton, My Morning Jacket, and Alison Krauss.
Originally from Wichita, KS, Rachel received her BA from Indiana University and MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Business. She currently serves as the President of the board of the Americana Music Association and has served on boards for the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, and Leadership Music.
